Get to know Kaylee Piatt, a student-athlete with a family full of Storm Athletes including her fiancé.
What is your major? I graduated in December of 2013 with my degree in Sport Management and I am currently working on my MBA.
What team do you play on? SNU Volleyball. #RollStorm
Where are you from? I was born in Okarche, OK but I grew up in Buffalo and Bryan, TX.
What are your hobbies/interests? I love being around my family as much as possible. I also enjoy sports of every kind and being connected with LifeChurch and FCA.
What are three words that describe you? Christian, sinner, athlete.
What is a talent that you possess? I could probably be considered a professional napper.
What is your biggest fear? I am deathly afraid of birds!
What achievement are you most proud of? Either getting to graduate with my Masters before age 23 or getting to level 500 on Candy Crush. 🙂
What is your life motto? My life verse is Colossians 3:23!
What is it like to come from a legacy of Crimson Storm Athletes? I’m not sure if I would call it a legacy, but there are a lot of us! My dad (basketball) and my mom (tennis) both played here their first two years of college. One of my cousins played football here for one year. My brother and sister-in-law are both currently on the track team, and my fiancé played 4 years of baseball. It’s cool to know that so many of us are a part of such a great community!
How hard is it for two student-athletes to date with such strenuous schedules? What was it like? Since our seasons were during different semesters, it definitely wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been! We were able to go to a lot of each other’s games, but there definitely wasn’t time for very much else. I think we were able to embrace the chaos, and we had a lot of homework dates throughout the years!
