The 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium

The 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium

Since 2007, SNU has been the host of an annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the springtime for undergraduate students to be encouraged to complete original, in-depth research on various topics. The UGRS is unique in that it is not limited to SNU students: anyone can attend, assuming they have time in their schedules to see a presentation on any given student’s research.

There are four main categories in which students may present a paper, project, or poster:

  • The Freshman section, which as the name implies, is for freshman only,
  • Senior or Honors Thesis,
  • Intercultural Showcase,
  • and General.

This spring, there are several freshmen lined up to present their research papers in the Symposium, and a number of students presenting their research as posters in the library coffee shop from 12-1:20 PM on Thursday. The Undergraduate Research Symposium is not only an opportunity for students to present their research findings, but it is also a time to practice presentations for graduate school and provide opportunities for work-study programs.

The first events of the Undergraduate Research Symposium begin Thursday, March 28th at 12:00 noon and continue on and off until 4:00 PM on Friday, March 29th. Attending the presentations is a great way to support your fellow students while also having the possibility to learn something new. Some professors are even offering extra credit for attending, so be sure to check out the Spring 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium!
