Preparing for Fall Break

Preparing for Fall Break

The school year is well on its way, and many of us are stressed and in need of a break. The struggle is real, and the stress will continue, but there is a way to get excited.

Fall Break (Oct. 17-20) could be a fun time if it is planned early. Some of us go camping, others go home and some of us do not know what to plan for. That is okay–we all have different preferences for what we want. But remember: this is college. Some of the best times in our lives happen while we are in college.

Camping trips with your friends can bring everlasting memories. When you plan a camping trip, getting all the information as you can two weeks before Fall Break can mean the difference between going and not going.

National parks are popular places for this time of year. A lot of campsites are usually reserved by that time, unless you get lucky and there is one still available wherever you are planning to visit. Getting the reservation early to where you want spend fall break is key. As a bonus, the more people who go, the cheaper it gets because everyone can split the costs of the entire trip if needed. Save up, get some friends and start planning so that when the time comes, you are ready.

If camping is not your first choice, then how about exploring the city? Taking a walk in downtown OKC can be nice. We may not have the best skyline out there, but to many, the beauty of our skyscrapers can still be amazing. And of course, there are almost no limits to where you can take pictures. There is also the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. Both are interesting places if that is what you are into. Of course, there are many other things to do.

Going home is also a great choice. Nothing beats being with family. When it comes to family plans, the possibilities are endless as to how one could spend it. Fall Break is about relaxing and getting rid of all the stress that college comes with.

Anything can happen during this time. While planning is important, the most important thing is to spend it with a group of friends or family. It is an opportunity to experience things that you never thought possible and to just take a break from reality.
