Things for Students To Do Around Oklahoma City

Sometimes, as a college student, you study and go to class so much that you forget to look around and see all the amazing things near Southern Nazarene University. So in case you need a few suggestions on things to do or places to try, I have compiled a list of fun things to do around town.

If you haven’t already tried the Mexican restaurant across the street, Birrieria Diaz, you are missing out. If you are looking for pizza, Hideaway Pizza on N. Broadway is the spot. You get to build your own pizza, so you can get whatever you want.

For a fun time and good atmosphere, there is Top Golf. The food is good, and it is a lot of fun to go with a group of friends. They even offer half prices on Tuesdays. Now baseball season is approaching, you can go see the Oklahoma City Dodgers in action. The Dodgers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League, and are a Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They are located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and play their home games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. If baseball isn’t your sport of choice, it’s always a good idea to catch an OKC Thunder game when they’re in town.

If sports are not your vibe and art is more your style, I highly recommend checking out the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. You can check out some amazing exhibits by Kehinde Wiley, and see Chihuly Then and Now: The Collection at Twenty. Personally, even if you don’t think you’re an art person, I suggest going anyway. You may be pleasantly surprised how much you enjoy it.

If shopping is your thing, I highly recommend checking out the Laboratory OKC. It was Oklahoma’s first sneaker boutique. It is located in Midtown and gets new inventory daily. They sell Vlone, Bape, Supreme, and so much more. Another favorite store is GRINMORE. It’s a boutique store that carries a variety of cool and trendy clothes, and the staff is super nice.

If you find yourself hanging out at Scissortail Park, I recommend you try Spark. It’s a local burger place, and I promise you won’t be disappointed. One of my favorite things to in Downtown OKC is to walk around and check out the Plaza Walls. There are about 36 new murals, always changing, and you will never be disappointed.

Last but not least is the OKC Zoo. You can feed the giraffes or even the rhinos. Take the elephant express train, or check out the stingray bay. It’s a great time for animal lovers of all ages.

There are so many things to do in Oklahoma. So don’t just study and do homework, explore a little.
