As autumn sets in and midterm season approaches, SNU students are excited to get ready for one of the most anticipated events of the semester: the Fall Silent Disco. This event, organized by the Social Life Team, promises a night filled with music, activities, and community spirit, making it more than just a casual party–it’s a space for connection and fun.
Eli Redinger, the Social Life Student Lead, emphasizes the incredible experiences awaiting students at the disco. He states, “Fall Disco is going to be one of the most fun events all year. There will be lots of music everyone can sing along to, a paint-by-numbers craft, crumble cookies, and coffee slushes!”
For many students, the Fall Silent Disco isn’t just about the music—it’s about the memories and friendships made in the process. Sophomore biochemistry student, Jill Pense, reminisces how last year’s event became a defining moment for her and her group of friends. “I remember this being the first big event, and it’s what brought me and my friends together,” Pense shared.
The sense of freedom and connection is the heart of what makes the Fall Silent Disco so special. It’s an event where students can let go of the stress of academics and simply live in the moment. Pense added, “I’m most excited to just spend a night hanging out and having fun with my friends, new and old!”
First-time attendees are just as excited. Sophomore biochemistry student, Joanna Zachariah, and her friends have been preparing for the event, focusing not only on singing and dancing but on making the night their own. Joanna mentions, “My friends and I have been planning out our outfits and getting ready together—some of us are thrifting, and some of us are reusing clothes we already have.” For her, this disco will be a chance to dive into one of SNU’s most beloved events. “This is my first time going to the Fall Disco, so I’m excited to have a good time and dance with my friends!”
Whether it’s Jill Pense reminiscing about last year’s fun or Joanna Zachariah excited about her first experience, there’s one thing they both agree on: the Fall Silent Disco is all about community. It’s an event that brings people together, allowing them to connect in a unique and colorful environment.
As Redinger says, “This event is the perfect place to hang with friends and make new memories.” It’s the kind of night where connections are deepened, whether through shared laughter, dancing, or just the simple joy of being together.
With headphones on, spirits high, and dressed to the nines, students will soon gather for an unforgettable evening, moving to the beat of their music, yet united by the silent rhythm of Christ and the community that defines SNU.
