Southern Nazarene University’s campus is full of food options ranging from the cafeteria, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, and even the occasional food truck. Students have plenty of options to decide what to eat on campus, but there are also a lot of great options within Bethany. Fortunately, a restaurant only a little ways across the street called Ding Asian Fusion Restaurant is a recommended choice for both Chinese and Japanese cuisines.
Ding is currently owned by Candy and Jacky Niu who are very welcoming and willing to help answer any questions or concerns about the meals and their ingredients. A seasoned Ding employee, Leslie, shares her thoughts on the restaurant. “I love the food, the family atmosphere, and my co-workers.” A younger employee, Kimberlyn, adds her thoughts as well, “I think the food I’ve tried is good, the customers are overall nice, and there are a lot of regulars.”
Ding is a great restaurant not only for the quality of their meals, but for the wide range of items to choose from, such as Chinese dishes, fried rice, lo mein, clay pots, soups, sizzling platters, and a wide variety of sushi. Another part of the menu that helps Ding stand out is their “create your own Poke Bowl” option where customers can choose their own base, protein, mix-in, toppings, and sauce. Leslie shares her input on the meal, stating, “A poke bowl is always a good choice.”
SNU student, Raymen Sanabria, shares his thoughts on the food at Ding. “My favorite meal is the honey chicken and Godzilla rolls.” Sanabria continues by saying, “Ding is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I have recommended it to many of my friends and families. I had my birthday there last year, and I might do it again this year.”
Ding provides a welcoming atmosphere and an experience worth remembering through their food. Students have the option of placing pickup orders or eating in the restaurant with friends or family to enjoy food they might not get on campus. If you are ever looking for a close place to eat, look no further than across the street from A.M. Hills and Sawyer.
