Do you love to travel? Do you love to try new things and explore different cultures? Do you have a desire to serve others? Do you have a passion for Jesus Christ?
This year, students at Southern Nazarene University are going to be given plenty of opportunities to visit other countries, explore new cultures and deliver the message of Jesus Christ. This year, there will be 9 countries students may choose from.
If you feel called to serve on any of these teams, be sure to sign up soon! November 4 is the early application deadline. The sooner you sign up, the better chance you have of being selected for the country you desire. All applicants will be evaluated by November 16, and on November 17, you will receive a letter from Joel Mullen to inform you about the status of your SIMS 2015 application. Remember, this is your chance to put to use the talents God has given you! Don’t feel you need to have a calling to the mission field to sign up. Anyone, no matter what their major, can use and develop their hobbies and talents to be a blessing to others and learn more about reaching out to those who are in desperate need of a Savior.
Concerned about finances? According to Joel Mullen, SIMS will do everything they can do to make sure students will be financially covered.
“We will be fundraising a lot this year, and with the help of sponsors, it can be possible. Pray about it; don’t worry about the costs. If this is the direction God wants to take you, God will provide,” Mullen said.
It has even come to my attention that there are some students concerned about the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. Mullens would like students to know that SIMS will do everything they can to make sure students are safe. “If we need to re-locate a team or even cancel a mission trip, we will do that. We would never put our students at risk. Their safety is a top priority.”
