Naps, wow, they’re great aren’t they? Almost everyone I’ve spoken to on campus enjoys to sleep; I myself am one of them. Napping is a central part of my day. I wake up, go to classes, eat lunch, nap, do homework, and then sleep. What’s so great about naps is that you can take them anywhere, although some naps are not as adventurous as they can be. I enjoy the occasional strange nap: in an office, the library, the restroom, maybe even during chapel. This article will highlight all of the best places (in my own opinion) to sleep on campus, besides your own room. These are weird places to nap. They’re places you sleep when you are desperate, throwing caution to the wind as you give in to your senses and are forced to trust your peers and hope that they do not murder you while you sleep. Reaching this level of trust is almost like enlightenment; you are free, no longer shackled by your worries and cares, and able to nap peacefully anywhere. The locations in this list are all inside, because it’s often too cold to sleep outside right now.
5. Herrick Auditorium: There’s lots of chairs and plenty of room to hide. Napping in the Herrick Auditorium is sneaky, solemn and forbidden. This is the trifecta of hidden napping.
4. Second floor of the library: Private rooms, quiet zones, what more could you ask for? The only problems with the second floor of the library is the lack of privacy. People are always walking through there, but at least they’re quiet.
3. The Fine Arts Centers couches: Ooooooh, these go all the way back to my days of going to Extravaganza. Every year after we got our registration sorted out, we would try to get to the Fine Arts Center so we could take a nap. It was always good, always comfy and always serene. Even now, it’s still a nice place to nap. It may not have the same magic as it used to, but it still holds a special place in my heart
2. The SGA Office: Comfy, quiet and a television, mmm check please! Being close to Pop’s as well, the SGA office is both convenient and comfy. What else would you really need at school? Come on, when you’re hankerin’ for a napperin’, this is near perfect.
1. Dr. Gresham’s Office: The one, the only, the forbidden sanctuary – the place where no one else goes, the ultimate in napping. Do not tread here unless you are the bravest of heart. This is my one and only warning. Expulsion is a strong possibility for stepping in this danger zone.
There it is, my top 5 list for napping at SNU, at least for inside buildings. Good luck on your journeys, my friends. I wish you luck in all that you do, especially in the world of free napping. It’s a good road to take, and I couldn’t be more excited to have people take this road just as I have, long ago.
