Discount alert! As college students, it can be hard to find a balance in saving money, especially with services that are beneficial for students. Luckily, there are some pretty good deals out there that won’t break your piggy bank.
Amazon Prime offers a beneficial program for students called Prime Student. Prime Student offers all of the great deals of a regular Prime account but is only half the price! When you sign up, the first six months are free. Once the trial is over, it’s just $6.49 a month. Some of the features include free two-day delivery, access to thousands of tv shows and movies, and unlimited access to a wide selection of ebooks.
As a Prime Student member, Emilie Jackson, a senior at SNU, couldn’t stop raving about the service. She said that it’s “definitely worth it, especially for the fast shipping. It’s extremely convenient.” She went on to mention that “it’s really not that expensive.” Even though the discount expires after you graduate, she plans to continue using and pay full price for the service.
If you are looking for something more on the entertainment side, Hulu also offers a student discount. Their subscription is only $1.99 a month and provides access to tons of shows and movies from a variety of channels including FX. Other than their wide selection, Hulu also has a watch party feature that allows up to seven people to stream, watch, and chat all at once.
Junior, Shelby Hutchinson, is a frequent Hulu user who has a student subscription. When asked what her favorite feature is about the streaming service she said, “I like how it gets the shows out the day after they come out.” She also said that the streaming service is “overlooked” and believes this is why it is cheaper than most streaming platforms.
If you like to listen to music, Spotify also has a student discount package that includes Hulu and Showtime. That subscription is $4.99 a month.
Saving money can be a challenge, but hopefully, these student discounts can help you with some of your financial struggles!
