While students balance the responsibility of homework, practice, and work, it can bring some stress. One fun way students can destress is by going to the movie theater. The theater is a good place for students to unwind and watch a thrilling film on the big screen. Senior Carson Shirola shares his thoughts about the theater. “It’s a nice break to be fully immersed in a movie.”
At the theatre, there is always a movie for everybody. Whether you like action or romance, you are bound to find a film worth your while. Sophomore Cody Collins shares his most anticipated movie of this year. “The live-action How to Train Your Dragon.” He further adds, “The movie trailer looked really good. I really loved the original movie and its soundtrack growing up.”
While Collins is excited about nostalgia, Shirola looks forward to action and shares his similar excitement for this year’s new interpretation of Superman. “I love superheroes and the trailer looks really good. It seems like James Gunn has a new take which will be refreshing.”
The price of seeing a movie in the theater may scare some students away, but there are strategic ways to not break the bank. Plan to eat before or after the theatre to save on those expensive snacks and keep your hunger at bay. It is also worth bringing your student ID as some theaters give student discounts. Lastly, check multiple theater locations for the best deal. Some theaters have discounts on certain days of the week making the cost much more manageable for college students.
Collins encourages students to go to the theaters saying, “Life gets busy and it may seem like you don’t have time, but movies are a great way to take advantage of the time we have here in college to hang out with friends and have fun.” So, make some plans with friends and go to the movie theater this weekend.
