Many jokers and pranksters eagerly await the arrival of April 1. They have planned jokes and a hearty “April Fools!” for their unsuspecting victims. The rest of us approach the holiday with a subtle awareness, eyeing our friends most likely to pull a prank.
However, April is so much more than its first day. There are numerous fun and wacky holidays throughout the month—one for each day. Below are some of the most entertaining, along with a brief description of how to celebrate them.
April 2 – National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

April 5 – National Read a Roadmap Day
This holiday requires some planning. Use a physical roadmap to plan an excursion and navigate without GPS. Bring a friend and explore a new location.
April 6 – Fête of the Little Boats
Known in France as Fête des Petits Bateaux, this holiday involves making small boats and floating them downstream.
