Mary’s Classic Buttercream
“This is a great starter recipe that can be used as a base for many other buttercream flavors.” -Mary
1 cup unsalted butter (softened slightly)
1 cup shortening
7 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tbs vanilla extract
Cream butter and shortening until smooth. Add in sugar 1 cup at a time and mix until smooth. Mix in vanilla.
Yields enough frosting for 2 dozen cupcakes.
