Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is closely approaching, which means it is time to bust out cheesy puns and giant plush-sized animals. All jokes aside, Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate all of the special people in your life. There are many different ways to celebrate with the loved ones in your life. Here are some fun ideas on how to spend the holiday.

Bake treats! The possibilities are endless from baking heart-shaped cookies to making chocolate-covered strawberries. Or, if you don’t feel like baking, just buy some heart-shaped candy at the store. Once all of the desserts are in place, you could have a small tasting party and have your friends sample all the goodies you baked.

Make some fun memories by going out! There are plenty of fun places to travel to in OKC including Factory Obscura, Scissortail Park, and Harkins Bricktown Theater. If you want to switch things up, the Museum of Osteology is having a special “Forensic Night” where each group will be assigned a specific case that allows them to examine human skeleton remains and try to crack the case. The event runs from February 12th through the 14th; tickets for this event cost $35 each.

Watch a Romantic Comedy! Grab a comfy blanket, some buttery popcorn, and enjoy a nice night indoors by watching a cheesy (but good) romantic comedy. There are a lot of options out there, but here are a few ideas to get you started: Always Be My Maybe, Kate & Leopold, Leap Year, and The Princess Bride.

Host a game night! When it comes to games there are many different options to choose from including board games, card games, and role-playing games. If you want to shake up the traditional game night, try having a Powerpoint night. Creative Powerpoint presentations are very popular and add a burst of life to any event. This can also be done via Zoom, letting your distant friends and family in on the action.

Send a card! What better way to tell the special people in your life how much you love them by sending them a Valentine’s card. Doing this shows the receiving person that you thought about them in advance rather than sending them a last minute text.

Hopefully, these ideas will inspire you to treat the special people in your life right this holiday!
