2025 has arrived and SNU students are returning for their spring semester. Most students come into the new year with new goals of earning high grades, completing their new semester, or preparing for graduation. Some aim to become more involved in the SNU community through new clubs, SNU events, and socializing with new students alike.
Senior student and Editor-at-Large of The Echo Newspaper, Emma Dilbeck, shares her major goals for this semester. “My biggest goal this spring semester is to finish strong and graduate in May.” Sophomore student and SSS Social Media Manager, Jose Ramos, adds, “My biggest goals for this semester are to have fun with my friends and to ace all my classes! A lot of my friends are seniors, so before graduating this year, I’d love to have a blast with them!”
Setting goals for the new year is a great stepping stone for self-motivation and determination. By setting high yet realistic goals, students have a greater chance of passing their assignments and tests. Ramos shares his planned accolades for 2025. “I plan to achieve good grades and work on myself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I have full trust God will work through me and lead me to a great year.” He continues, “I am also interested in relearning how to drive since I haven’t in a long time and with that finally get a car.” Dilbeck also shares, “My biggest goal for the new year is to get into physician assistant (PA) school.”
A new year brings new experiences and new possibilities for a clean slate. Many students have habits they want to correct or get rid of. Ramos mentions, “I want to control my procrastination. Last year I let my procrastination take control of me too often. I know that I have to set new standards and work on new routines to have a much more productive year.” Dilbeck comments, “I want to read more and be more active.”
2025 comes with many opportunities for students to learn and grow as they make the most of their time remaining here at SNU.
