Meet Hannah Davis, a freshman global studies major with a focus in political science, who not only works part-time at SNU’s own Chick-fil-A but is also involved in ROTC.
Southern Nazarene University provides students with multiple on-campus job opportunities, and Chick-fil-A is one of them. Hannah Davis is one of SNU’s many student workers and has been working at Chick-fil-A since late November. Her role is to help out where she can, which could be making sandwiches and fries one day and taking orders at the front counter the next.
She heard about SNU through her high school rugby coach and is now a flanker for the SNU Women’s rugby team. In her free time, she usually practices rugby or with the Broncho battalion at the University of Central Oklahoma for ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), which is a group of college and university-based officer-training programs for training commissioned officers of the United States Armed Forces.
One of her favorite things about being employed on campus is getting to meet new people and build relationships with her coworkers who are not students. “It is actually fun to work in the bottom of the Commons because I have gotten to learn and meet so many students that attend SNU that I probably would have never talked to if it was not working for Chick-fil-A.”
One of Hannah’s favorite memories from her time at SNU was getting together with her friends at the beginning of the semester right after Christmas break. “My friends and I were all back together, so we went to eat at a 24-hour diner, and afterward we spontaneously stopped by the Scissortail Bridge in downtown OKC and took pictures. It was really cold that night and the bridge was icy, so it was kind of like skating.”
If you want to get to know Hannah more, she works a four to five-hour shift on Monday through Friday in the afternoons, depending on her schedule with rugby. She is always willing to meet new friends and build relationships with everyone at SNU! If you are also interested in getting a part-time job at Chick-fil-A or somewhere else on campus, visit my.snu.edu and click on the Career Center tab and then the student employment tab for possible job opportunities, or visit the Student Life office in the basement of the Commons.
